Christopher Baum, director of Die Vögel wollten Hochzeit halten.

The « Karoviertel » in Hamburg, Germany, is a tiny inner-city area almost totally neglected by urban planning from after WWII until the early 2000s.  Now the change has come and the place is being discovered for its locational advantages and its lack of target-oriented, money generating development. Some of its inhabitants, though, are not happy when trees are supposed to be felled and more houses built. Why not put a couple of pigs in the backyard and see what happens? Maybe the idea of a few will be the utopia of the many and a sustaining counter-culture will arise and we will all fly – pigs on a wing.
